Jakob is highly qualified in both design and construction management, having completed a Bachelor of Architecture as well as a Bachelor of Construction Management at Deakin University. He completed both of these degrees with Honours.
Jakob has also worked in London and Melbourne, where he was exposed to a wide range of civic and private projects, including major upgrade works to the London Underground, in preparation for the 2012 Olympic Games.
In 2010, Jakob was a finalist in the Dulux Study Tour, a national competition seeking to identify Australia's most promising emerging architects. In 2015, Jakob received a Warrnambool City Council Good Design Award for his work at St John’s Primary School, and in 2016, Jakob was the recipient of a Hamilton Rotary Club Pride of Workmanship Award for his designs on several public buildings throughout the Hamilton region.
Prior to starting Kelly Architects, Jakob held a senior role at an established regionally based architecture practice. During this time, he was heavily involved in the successful delivery of over twenty major capital works and building projects for government and non-government schools.

Hamish studied architecture at University of South Australia, graduating in 2013 with Honours. Having been raised in Kaniva, rural Victoria, Hamish shares a similar passion to Jakob for supporting regional communities. After working in Adelaide for a year, Hamish chose to relocate to Hamilton in rural Victoria to continue his career as a regional based architect.
Hamish has worked with Jakob since 2015 and has become an integral member of the design team. His natural leadership abilities and humble personality have made him a popular work colleague amongst many of our clients and sub-consultants.
Hamish is committed to strong and continual professional development including his ongoing understanding of the unique characteristics of sporting and community projects. Hamish has travelled throughout Australia visiting a range of public facilities to give himself real world experience of the theoretical research he engages in daily.
Hamish’s thorough understanding and experience with 3D computer aided drawing software results in high quality documentation and design resolution. Our office has been commended on the production of clear and precise 3D renders, concept drawings and technical details from Hamish’s leadership in this field.
